J. J.  Trujillo, is a former Major League Baseball pitcher with the San Diego Padres. Before making it to the big league, J.J. Trujillo played college ball for Dallas Baptist and high school ball for W.B. Ray in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was awarded the Rolaids Relief Man award for the entire affiliated minor league system in 2000. He was signed as a free agent by San Diego in 2000 and traded to Kansas City in 2004. J.J. Trujillo was among the first to join the Padres system out of independent baseball and he made his way up through the system to join the big club for a brief stint in 2002.
